If album campaigns were an Olympic sport, Katy Perry would undoubtedly clean up in the long distance category. Now approaching two years since she began Teenage Dream, she's not only managed to negotiate six globally successful singles, but has also kept us thoroughly entertained with a multitude of luminous wigs, spray cream boobs and her alter ego Kathy Beth Terry to name but a few.
Of course, it's also a period which saw her wed and subsequently divorce Russell Brand; and while her latest effort (fronting the LP's re-release) was written pre-marriage breakdown, we can't help but admire her timing. "You can keep the diamond ring/ It don't mean nothing anyway," she confesses over a toe-tapping bubblegum beat courtesy of Dr Luke, before letting rip on the chant-along chorus. The result, as you'd expect, is revenge of the very sweetest kind.
