Beyonce & Shakira: 'Beautiful Liar'

When two female pop superstars get together, the results are normally enough to make you pray for a ruptured ear drum. Remember Mariah trying to out-warble Whitney on 'When We Believe'? How about Barbra baying for Celine's blood on 'Tell Him'? And, frankly, the less that's said about VH1's Divas Live concerts, the better.
'Beautiful Liar' isn't as ridiculously overblown as those collaborations, but it's as calculated as a wannabe page 3 model's decision to have a boob job. It has a stuttering R&B beat to keep Beyonce fans happy, some middle-eastern instrumental hooks to let us know that Shakira's, y'know, a world music sensation and a video that features gratuitous belly-wiggling. It's not bad, but the only people who've really excelled themselves on this one are the make-up artists who powdered those lovely tums.

Without the Freemasons mix this song would be nothing. I can only assume that Nick Levine hadn't heard it when he wrote this review, because the Freemasons mix is truly sensational. It has overtaken the original in the iTunes chart, and the slightly delayed online release (one week behind) is probably responsible for the 3-week success of this smash hit.
The video is so hot and sexy. I wasn't realy crazy about Beyonce,I was more of a Shakira person. But now I think that to have both of them on the screen is a hit,it's just perfect.

Good collaboration. I love when they say each other names the beyoncé beyoncé shakira shakira. A bit too hips don't lie-esque but not as good.
I love shakira a lot and i am trying all my best to dance like her. I will one day like to meet her and compete with her. As for beyonce,i like just her a little.
i think the video is great, everything about is great! especially the belly dancing.
oh cool i love shakira and her bellydance beyonce probely teached shakira her street dance and shakira teached her belly dance wich makes this song no.1. and they look like twins and they rock togetherand love the song both cute, both sexy both talents. hope they make another vidio together
