One Direction - Comic Relief official single cover for One Way Or Another
Truth be told, when One Direction announced that they were covering Blondie's 'One Way Or Another' - which was originally released in 1979 and failed to chart in the UK - we felt as if we'd already heard it. The cheeky lyrics, bouncy pop-rock melody and singalong chorus felt like an obvious but reassuringly safe option for this year's official Comic Relief single.

Of course, 1D's re-working chops the fat off the original and adds a generous glaze of studio guitars and cheerleader echoes and handclaps. What's more, amongst all the madness and "na-na-na"-ing, the Glee-style mash-up into 'Teenage Kicks' middle 8 appears utterly seamless. The result may be predictable, but it's undeniably fun.
