Bastille have bloomed in a time of transition for pop, when heavily-processed synths are slowly being replaced by organic instrumentals - and it's a wave they are surfing with ease. "But if you close your eyes/ Does it almost feel like nothing changed at all?" singer Dan Smith asks his beau over bounding beats and a sing-along chant loftier than his perfectly-styled quiff. It may have been two years in the making, but this is the sound of a band ready for a breakthrough.
