CSS: 'Alcohol'

Cansei De Ser Sexy. If there was ever a band that inspired more envy than this bunch of hot, sexy, zeitgeist-riding, virile starlets then we've yet to hear of them. Not content with cruising around on nu-rave tours, filling up the tabloid trash with Klaxons-related sauciness and tackling the muddiest summer festival circuit in a decade with a proliferation of glittery outfits and sunshine smiles, they are now attempting to march to the top of the charts and pinch a place at the pop-party dinner table.

New single 'Alcohol' - the latest (and probably last) helping from their self-titled debut - bangs together some Casio keyboards, a Commodore 64 and two Sega Master Systems before pouring over ten bottles of Jack Daniels. Reminiscent of Gorky's Zygotic Mynci frontman Euros Childs' solo release 'Donkey Island', it sounds like a theme tune to the final enemy battle of an earlier Mario Bros. game with the added pleasure of a barrelful of "wooh, woohs" and the tempting request of: "Hey hey hey / Do you want to drink some alcohol". More twee than a box-set of Sylvanian Family and dafter than a pair of Timmy Mallett's glasses, it's a jolly, jovial delight.
