It's not often you find yourself bopping around your handbag to an Alanis Morissette track these days. Even back in her Jagged Little Pill pomp, we were more accustomed to finding her tracks on our aunties' coffee tables and mums' car stereos than slipped in between the latest Fatboy Slim big beat anthems. However, it's a track from the Canadian warbler which the Brighton dance duo Freemasons have taken on as their latest project, although admittedly her vocals have been replaced by the altogether more appealing proposition of Bailey Tzuke.
'Uninvited' is the usual thumping house work-out that Freemasons have been knocking out with military regularity over the past two years. Tzuke's sultry vocals certainly add some zing to the flat and repetitive tune but even her finest crooning can't drag this sludge out of the mire of mediocrity. It's worth hunting down the remix with Alanis Morissette's vocals on just for curiosity value, but the single itself, well you're not missing much.

I have to disagree with the reviewer on this one. I don't think it's meant to be a dance track, not every song is. I do not like any other Freemasons, but this one is very haunting and stays with you for a while. The instrumental in the background clashes with the chilling off key vocals, it is bizarre yet very stirring.

cracking tune and great vocals...and I'm stuck in a britpop era so to grab me it must have something.

This is freemasons at their best! Alex Fletcher is either tone deaf and/or lazy in his commentary. The 'tune' as he sub-eloquently puts it, is not flat and it's repetition is completely welcome. It's one of those dramatic and addictive back-beats which will probably be mixed into many songs to come. I still can't get this song out of my head from hearing it on the dance floor NYE. I had no problem dancing to the club mix of this song, nor did anyone else..

I disagree with the writer, I think he seriously was having a bad day. This track is amazing! I cant stop listening to it. Bailey Tzuke's voice is angelic, beautiful and I will be sure to follow her music.

The backbeat is an Axé rhythm, very powerful and Bailey is a big star in the making. I might have to buy this one.

This track is superb, I dj at a small club in ibiza, and it is definitely one of the best tunes of this year.. what a voice bailey tzuke has.

Without any doubt THE single of the year.....I haven't heard anything this good for a long time-the haunting vocals complement the 'stick in your head' tune perfectly-an absolute must buy and a surefire No 1

i've got to agree with the writer here, although it does have you moving around a bit it's not really a fun enough track for the dancefloor...although i'm sure there will be plenty of remixes just waiting to change everybodies mind. maybe something a tiny bit more original in the producing stages of this track might of helped it obtain a higher stake in the charts battles but i can't really see it reaching anywhere above number 10!

this song is amazing and doesn't sound like anything they've done before and for the fact that it has gone to number 8 in the uk charts on downloads alone proves just how well this song will do....

The Alanis remix was produced by them too if you had bothered to do your research. This track will be their biggest to date... LOVE IT... watch this space...

I agree with all the reviewers that gave this 5/5. Its enchanting and Bailey renders the lyrics so much better than the original. Alex get a grip.
