Who ever said we were dumbing down as a nation? Well probably the person that picked up this single and was told that radio DJs across the land were playing it on repeat and declaring it the ANTHEM OF THE SUMMER! You may know it as that 'Accordion Song', or if you're more like me, you'll recall it as that wretched racket that's about as appealing to your ears as an afternoon locked in a padded cell with Charley from Big Brother, The Krankies and Michael Winner.

Every so often a dance hit comes across that is so inane and mind-blowingly awful that it seems its innate terribleness is what's fueling the marketing and success of the record. Eiffel 65's 'Blue', 'No Limit' by 2 Unlimited, the hits of DJ Sammy. The fact they were more irritating than being tickled persistently for 48 hours by half a dozen feather dusters was neither here nor there. Everyone remembers them now, and you couldn't get them out of your bleedin' head then. Whether this tortuous skill is to be applauded for its ingenuity or whether the perpetrators should be shot on sight - well, we'll let you decide. Pete Tong loves it. We hate it. Mission accomplished for DJ Samim.
