Leona Lewis, get back under Simon Cowell's cloak. The true inheritor of Mariah and Whitney's soul diva crown is back with a bang. She may have taken an age following up 2003's The Diary Of Alicia Keys, but she's finally pulled her finger out and if this single's anything to go by it's well worth the wait. For those that way inclined, she's also gone to the bother of filming a video where she rolls around half-naked on a beach. Which is nice.
The song is a fluttering, piano-tinkling ballad - of the variety we've come to expect from Ms Keys - that manages to steer away from the warbling and vocal stretching that so many of her contemporaries (we're looking at you Christina!) insist on whacking in at the end of every chorus. The lyrics expose Keys' vulnerability and current loved-up status, while the tune is simplistic yet beautiful. In conclusion, this tune is cooler than an Eskimo's exposed nether regions and it's flippin' great to have Alicia back in the fold.

i thought this song was really good and i love her vocals; the song really got me thininking because it is such a soulful song and i think alicia really surpassed all in this music it is a love song but not like all other love songs in the market and shops today i think its dirfferent which is a good thing but i cant really relate to the song though but i think this song just tells us that love is not a bed of roses and people will always be against the relationship but at the end love conquers all!

“No One” by Alicia Keys is a song about a woman who believes no one will separate her from the man she loves. She talks about how she’s counting on him to always be there for her, and I think she makes herself seem vulnerable, needy, and desperate to be with him. This brings the song “If I Ain’t Got You” [also by Alicia Keys] to mind, because it makes me wonder if the man sung about in these songs may be the same one. If so, the lyrics in “If I Ain’t Got You” support my belief that Alicia is desperate to be with this man. When she says, “Some people want it all, but I don’t want nothing at all, if it ain’t you…,” it makes me think that unless she has this man, she is and wants nothing. I think Alicia Keys is a little overdramatic in “No One” because problems do arise within relationships, and bad things do happen to seemingly perfect couples. She is very optimistic when she says nothing will come between her and her lover, and you can tell she’s desperate to believe this when she sings passionately and from the heart about it. Although Alicia Keys is a terrific singer and songwriter, she includes no metaphors or similes in “No One,” and this lack of figurative language takes away from the beauty of her words.

Are you kidding me? You really don't find this latest effort by Keys to be marginally more palatable than listening to a hungry dog howling at the moon?! This song is literally disgusting to have to sit through.

I have always liked this song and I actually listen to it a lot. I have no problem with Keys, her voice is awesome. But the arrangement is messed. I'm pretty sure they used a synthesizer because every time the ride cymbal sounds there is static. I also hear static throughout the piece and anyone can hear it at the beginning. I thought it was for effect until I heard it systematically with the cymbal. Just saying... I was hoping it was just my ITunes version but every sample I find of it sounds like its on the radio. Too bad, I'd like it clean.
