Has Sean Kingston, we wonder, ever heard of a self-fulfilling prophecy? After predicting that some fine young thang would have him "suicidal" on 'Beautiful Girls', his recent number one smash, he's now a-moanin' and a-groanin' about a girl who's left him "feelin' kinda blue". Sean, mate, might we suggest a bit of what Kris Akabusi used to call a "positive mental attitude"?
He'll need it, because 'Me Love', a lazy, hazy slice of blissed-out reggae-pop, makes as much sense in November as thermal underwear does during the height of summer. Over finger-clicks, a chorus nicked from Led Zeppelin's 'Dy'er Mak'er' and beefy hip-hop beats that tell us he's, y'know, a bit tougher than Shaggy, Kingston wails with neither charm nor consequence. "I feel like I'm drownin' in da ocean," he quivers. Hmm. Tempting, isn't it?
