David Guetta feat Cozi: 'Baby When The Light'
French knob-twiddler David Guetta is a very canny man indeed. For his follow-up to 'Love Is Gone', the electro-house thumpathon that took over freeview music channels over the summer, he's hooked up with Cathy Dennis, the Ivor Novello-winning songwriter who penned 'Toxic', 'Can't Get You Out Of My Head' and S Club 7's 'Reach'. The result? "It's really more pop," Guetta reckons. "It's still a dance track… but it's got a more of a Kylie kind of vibe."

While its delicate, breathy vocal, provided by London singer-songwriter Cozi, owes a clear debt to the little Aussie pop rocket, 'Baby When The Light' falls closer to Minogue, D Territory, all pounding electro-dance beats and hypnotic choruses. Nay matter, for Guetta has pulled off a nifty trick with this single, that of going for the pop jugular without sacrificing his dance sensibilities in the process. Let's hope he sent Ms. Dennis a thank-you note.
