Enrique Iglesias: 'Somebody's Me'
Enrique Iglesias has to put up with more kickings than most popstars these days. While McFly and Girls Aloud are allowed to pass by as guilty pleasures without so much as a gentle bit of mockery, the hunky Latino heart-throb seems always to be ripe for a ribbing. Whether it be Bo Selecta laughing at his (sadly now departed) mole or people making rather rude suggestions about the disappointing size of his manhood, Iglesias takes his fair share of stick in the pop music playground.

Which makes it a great shame that he can't shove the jibes down the big bullies' throats with his new single 'Somebody's Me'. Clearly not one to get too excited by the festive season, Iglesias has stuck with his regulation creamy, cheesy ballad formula and not bothered adding any sleigh bells or mistletoe & wine references to attract the Woolies Christmas shoppers. It's wet, very drippy and you'd be embarrassed if anyone caught you listening to it alone in your bedroom, but Iglesias' voice is as smooth as caramel and you can't deny there's something a little bit sexy about his husky call-outs to an unrequited love in the chorus. There's nothing to quell the nasty cat calls here, but his dedicated female followers should lap it up.
