Bullet For My Valentine: 'Scream Aim Fire'
Bullet For My Valentine, as you may have guessed from their name, make scary guitar music. Their debut album The Poison established them as one of the UK's biggest metal bands and flogged a few copies in the US as well. While those who prefer their rock with bouncy melodies and Pete Doherty mumbling over the top should steer well clear, they're pretty fun for those with a taste for the heavy stuff.

'Scream, Aim, Fire' pilfers a wodge of Metallica riffs, piles them over some serious drum battering and chucks in a load of weird lyrics about fighting in a battlefield. It's hard to believe singer Matthew Tuck has ever had vocal issues (he nearly left the group in 2006 after a nasty bout of laryngitis) as he launches into the volcanic chorus cry of "Scream! Aim! And fire!", while Michael Paget's elaborate guitar thrashing has been cranked up a notch since their debut. Though in no way original, it packs a big enough punch to fill a few arenas come the summer time.
