Kanye West ft. Chris Martin: 'Homecoming'
Well, it had to happen eventually. Chris Martin, a rocker who's shared his musical gifts with everyone from Embrace to Nelly Furtado, and Kanye West, a rapper who's never knowingly declined a superstar hook-up, finally found a window. The resulting track, 'Homecoming', is the emotional centrepiece of West's Graduation album.

While West exposes his human side, rapping about the hometown he abandoned in pursuit of pop stardom, Martin supplies a pomp-filled piano riff with a hint of vintage Elton to it. This could quite easily have become a crass exercise in mutual back-slapping, but, thankfully, Martin seems to have brought out West's inner softie, making 'Homecoming' the bragging rapper's most affecting moment to date.

Such a quality track - Kanye should be delighted to have worked with the genius that is Chris Martin
