Westlife: 'Us Against The World'

Knocking Westlife is an utterly futile endeavour. Millions have tried, but several million more keep on buying the records. If you love Mark's falsetto, Shane's dulcet tones, Kian's cheeky grin and Nicky's stubble, you'll doubtless be popping this on your stereo come Valentine's Day. On the other hand, if you'd rather shove your head down a toilet seat used by the entire England rugby team than hear another glossy, schmaltzy three minutes of their Louis Walsh-approved fluff, we'd advise you to steer well clear. This is regulation Westlife that only adds to the argument that the stool-occupying unit-shifters could be replaced by attractive robots without anyone really noticing.

my rating is for the single not ur review. You evidently haven't listened to many westlife songs to give an accurate description of what they usually "churn out" the reason so many people like them is because they are decent hard working guys who put on an amazing tour each year singing live, never sitting on stools (as you would know if you bothered to do research to back up your reviews) and they have amazing individual voices which blend superbly well to create unique vocal harmonies. The music industry has plenty of bands that play their instruments to an extremely mediocre standard and they still get respect because they play instruments, The voice is westlife's instrument. They play it extremely well. That's why we love them. Now go and study some music before your next review :)

Well if you feel that way, please do go and stick your head down a toilet. I love that song, and yes I also happen to like 'Mark's falsetto, Shane's dulcet tones'. I f you were replaced by an attaractive romot I don't think anyone would really notice.
i personally feel you talk alot of rubbish. i'd say they were original and i also agree with a previous comment 'Why do people give Westlife so much stick? They are a good band and if they weren't, they wouldn't still be here at the top of the charts after 10 years.' so personally i think this review is terrible! i think this is still your opinion but definatly not a fact i dont see you out there rocking the stage go stick your head down the toilet im sure thats better than a sucessful career. btw im fourteen how posh do i sound haah:D westlife rock my boatttt :)(L) xxxxxxxxxx [put my teenage babble into it ;)]

contrary to your review that "us against the world" is about a couple fihting against the world, i believe this song is actually about the boys themselves. if you watch the music video of this song, you will get the feeling that the boys see themselves fighting against the world that hurls criticisms, rumors, etc. against them. i've been a fan of westlife for 10 years and before, i used to get riled up by people who hates their music...but then i saw an interview where in shane said "there are many people that hates our music but, no offense to them or anything, we don't really care about them". if you would rather stick your head on a toilet bowl, you have the right to do so...just as westlife is entitled to release another "cliche-riddled, down tempo chugger"...and just as us millions of fans around the world, are free to demand and wish for another ten years of westlife music :) cheers.
I love this single and hope it will be another No 1 for Westlife (15) I have been a fan for 10 years and it really annoys me when people criticise Westlife and their music. They all have amazing voices and their Live shows are fantastic. Heres to another 10 years.. love you Shane, Nicky, Kian & Mark Good Luck
Why do people give Westlife so much stick? They are a good band and if they weren't, they wouldn't still be here at the top of the charts after 10 years. And I listen to heavier music but I like this song (:
hey leave westlife alone.i know westlifes music isnt to everyones taste but then which music artist is.they have been going for 10 years now doesnt that tell you something.back home is a brilliant album and us against the world is brill.i love it.i love westlife.ive been a fan for the 10 years and i will continue to be...oh and i dont think you should comment on westlife always on stools cuz i dont think u have been to any of there concerts......1st june croke park...gonna be the best ever....love ya guys and good luck.....xxx
For so long now people have been saying "why can't Westlife do something original?" ... Well, they have. This is not a cover. But, it's a beautiful song, and I think it will appeal to lots of people (especially anyone 'loved up') Westlife deserve credit. You may not like their music - not everyone does - but as far as bands go, they've done remarkably well and don't deserve the constant criticism they receive.

Dont like this at all, but then again never liked westlife, all their songs are mushy and boring. There is no originality to their stuff, kinda feel sorry for the guys they are all talented but have crabby songs, oh and James, Alex is a reporter...that is a proper job lol

Whoever thinks that Westlife songs sucks should shoot himself. Westlife is the best boys/men band since they started. They are the BETTER than all the american and ENGLISH bands from UK
