Supergrass: 'Bad Blood'
Oxford rockers Supergrass are back with 'Bad Blood', the second single from their upcoming Diamond Hoo Ha album. Though they pretty much rode to fame on Oasis and Blur's coattails, they've slowly managed to carve a niche for themselves in the post-Britpop musical landscape. Never quite as popular as some of their contemporaries, the group have maintained a loyal fan-base while earning praise from the likes of Dave Grohl and the Arctic Monkeys.

'Bad Blood' is lyrically intriguing, with frontman Gaz Coombes singing in short, sharp bursts about "healing bad blood" while walking through "dirty streets". Musically, with its crunching guitars and slightly predictable tempo changes, it's a perfectly likable, if slightly uninspired, three-minute pop song. As with previous single 'Diamond Hoo Ha Men', it has a distinct glam rock feel - it could almost have been lifted from a lost Thin Lizzy or T-Rex album. On this evidence, Supergrass are a band capable of maturing gracefully - though, ironically, they seem to be rummaging through rock's history books in a bid to define themselves.
