Cahill ft. Nikki Belle: 'Trippin' On You'
You can be fairly confident that any group named after their favourite football player isn't going to be too intellectually stimulating. Liverpool DJ Anton Powers' dance collective - named after Australia and Everton soccer star Tim Cahill - make vapid, incessant dance choons to dance around your handbag to after too many bottles of Hooch. Their CV includes work with Dario G, Daz Bailey and Juice FM, while guest vocalist Nikki Belle famously worked on Mousse T's 'Horny'. It's unlikely that Sir Bob Geldof will be on the blower next time he wants to raise a few bob for Africa!

Fortunately for Cahill, if we demanded philosophical stimulation from our popstars, we'd probably be stuck with a truck-load of Bono-clones - a fairly horrendous prospect. 'Trippin' On You' is funky house fluff that will remind older listeners of foam parties and dodgy Ben Sherman shirts that they'd rather forget. Bell's vocals are fairly slick and the track's filled with enough rippling synths and bulging beats to create several moments of arms-aloft euphoria. It may be pointless, silly and uninspiring, but just you try keeping your legs still when this gets a spin on Saturday night.
