Kelly Rowland ft. Travis McCoy: 'Daylight'
It wasn't so long ago that the only member of Destiny's Child the world gave two hoots about was Beyoncé. However, with the monster-thighed 'Crazy In Love' diva busy settling down with Jay-Z for the foreseeable future, there's a large, R&B-shaped hole waiting to be filled. After scoring two consecutive top five hits with 'Like This' and 'Work', the newly-enhanced Kelly Rowland looks as equipped as anybody to step into her former bandmate's boots.

A cover of the legendary Bobby Womack's 1976 hit, 'Daylight' gives the old soul chestnut a smooth, 21st century re-working with fizzing synths and Timbaland-style chunky beats. Gym Class Heroes' Travis McCoy does well by keeping his irritating rap interjections to a minimum, with his throwaway quips sounding totally out of place next to Rowland's sleek, breezy vocals. This track does have a faint whiff of early '90s girl group Eternal about it, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Designed to be played on car stereos with the windows rolled down, Rowland may have a smash on her hands if the weather perks up.
