Nelly ft. Fergie: 'Party People'
In the aeons since his last albums - he released the hip hop-flavoured Sweat and the smoother, more melodic Suit on the same day back in September 2004 - Nelly hasn't only beefed up his biceps. 'Party People', the lead single from his upcoming Brass Knuckles LP, is tougher and more muscular than anything he's put his name to in the past.

Over skittering hip-hop beats and raging, trancey synths, Nelly brags about how brilliant he is before hollering: "Where my party p-party party p-party people at?" on the chorus. Fergie, a performer who continues to offer all the spark of a week-old cauliflower, does the same. This is no disaster, but if Nelly really wants to excite the party people, he needs to come up with something a little less monotonous.

Oh dear. There's nothing bad ass about this tune. I remember Nelly releasing two bad albums instead of one bad one last time around to take more money from his brainless fans. So I didn't exactly have any hopes for Nelly this time around. The song has nothing to say, leaves no lasting impression and seems to glorify the disparity of wealth across the globe. In one very traigc sense it is indeed very bad ass of Nelly - being wholly morally reprehensible has never looked so shiny.

Dobbie, I totally agree-the reviewer needs to get over his hate for Fergie and accept that this is a bad ass tune!! Good to have Nelly back also.

I love this song, it's a really good tune, and is pretty much guaranteed to fill the dancefloor! And whats with the hate for Fergie? She's brilliant, one of the few distinguishable faces/singers in the biz!
