MGMT: 'Electric Feel'

Back in January MGMT delivered an early contender for album of the year: the psychedelic pop gem Oracular Spectacular. Its second single, the toe-tapping, booty-shaking 'Electric Feel', shows why so many music fans have already fallen under the Brooklyn band's spell.

It finds the duo - Andrew VanWyngarden and Ben Goldwasser - tackling '80s funk with some panache. The result brings to mind Prince relaxing on a sun lounger and is guaranteed to bring a smile to even the most curmudgeonly of listeners. With falsetto vocals that will drive Mika green with envy and lyrics about a woman with "voltage running through her skin", it isn't conventional, but once the chorus kicks in you'll be powerless to resist.
