Lily Allen's at it again

The new song's called 'Guess Who Batman' and it's about discrimination. "It was originally written about the BNP in the UK," Lily writes on her blog. "But then I felt this issue has become relevant pretty much everywhere - we are the youth, we can make coolness for our future, it's up to us..." Oh-kaaay, you probably get the point by now.
Anyway, the lyrics are as pithy as we've come to expect from Lily - "You're just some racist who can't tie my laces" is probably the standout line - and the chorus features a naughty word that begins with 'f' and rhymes with 'duck'. Well, it's not like Joan Rivers owns it, is it?
Being a demo, 'Batman' is cruder than a Roy 'Chubby' Brown gag, but musically it's closer to Lily's debut album than the two new songs she posted in April, which suggested she was heading in a more electro direction. We think there's something a bit 'Close To You' about the track too, but you can decide for yourself by clicking here.
What do you think of Lily Allen's latest song? Are you looking forward to her new album? Use the space below to have your say.

First we have that whiter than white law abiding citizen, Pete Doherty, attacking the BNP, then Lily Allen uses her own hatred of the BNP to tell us how bad hatred is! She also thinks that anyone who thinks being gay is not OK are 'evil'. That means she must think (?) half the world is evil if you include most Catholics and the Muslim world. But I wouldn't expect anything else from the pop/rock world that far from being rebellious is in fact slavishly following the Liberal-Left Consensus. Lily Allen is a member of the Labour Party (how passe) who unlike Thatcher's minor war, dragged us into a major war, an hysterical overreaction that cost hundreds of thousands of Iraqi lives. So when her lyrics condemn going to war I wonder what planet she's living on. And she gives the game away when she says "Its people like you who need to get slew" The BNP are a small political party that will never get a first past the post seat in the UK Parliament. How brave to be against them! It seems everyone and the dog in the street is... I eagerly await lyrics condemning Muslim prejudice .......when Hell freezes over

I think it's a great song. She's using her creativity to put across a really credible point. It may not be the classiest song ever, but she's getting people thinking and hopefully realising how twisted the BNP's values are. She's got balls and I love it.

I like Lily's stuff and she is an unique talent, but I wish she would lose her 'Mocky' London accent - who's she kidding?

I wonder if this intellectual behemoth will condemn 'hateful' Islamic fundamentalists next, or maybe she only abuses people who won't hurt her back.

Love most of Lily's material, i think she is a fantastic artist with lots more to give us but i would rather she kept away from pushing issues like anti bnp etc at us. Lets hope the album doesnt contain tracks on going veggie or anti war, anti fur etc, etc or anything else of this nature - she can do far better than this!. I also dont like the over use of the "F word" in her tracks. In "Smile" it was relevent in the opening lyrics to illustrate her initial pain over her man going off, i could understand that - in this new material its just "F" for the sake of it. In "I dont Know" its "F.. lots of diamonds" in "guess who batman" its all the way through. She doesnt need to do a "Chubby Brown" to get a reaction - shes a talented musician. Anyway despite this, i do like her music style without the "F words", (also, my four year old daughter loves "Friday Night") its just a shame i wont be able to play the new stuff in the car with the Kids in if the rest of the new album is like the first three offerings.

While an anti-BNP song pretty much mandates an unsubtle, "laying-it-on-the-line" lyric this is just ludicrous. It's like a collection of childish slogans one would expect from an 11-year-old. No chance an anti-BNP song with some intelligence?

thank god for lilly allen. Why the hell is she cricticised for singing about the world and standing up to have her views counted?give me that than stick thin girls taking about sexy time or some other sort of complete soul crushing crapness. She may not be the best role model but id rather have my child grow up and be loud and willing to make mistakes than grow up and become a weakling that has no self respect...ala mrs.cole. Loving the new songs, still has the spark that alright still has.well done.

Personaly I think that Lily Allen is an amazing person, and I think that some of the public perception of her is wrong, shes young and enjoying life. He debut album 'Alright Still' is my all time favourite summer album, actualy one of my all time favourite albums and its up there withe Leona Lewis 'Spirit', her new songs 'I could say', and 'I don't know' are amazing and definately a new direction for Lily. 'I could say' in particular stands out for me, and it reminds me of a past relationship so i can relate to it, just like many of Lily's lyrics... you can relate. I have just heard the demo for 'Guess who's batman' and I loved it from the word go! It is very close to that of her 'Alright Still' days. Personaly I am very excited for her new album and I reckon it will be another album to add to my list of favourites. Lily has gone through alot in her personal life since she debuted so ofcourse her music will be going in a new direction as shes gotten older. personaly I Love Lily Allen, amazing!

Despite the amount of swearing this song has the most impact on people, i think. The album the song's on isn't crude at all. she sings about things that most people might be too afraid to say. This song is one of them. there's so much sense in it and she'll only get more popular because she has the gaul to say it all. go lily! :)
