The other one from Destiny's Child is back

Michelle's previous albums were sober, gospelly affairs, but she's described her new one, Unexpected, as a "dance-Euro-club-pop type of album". We're not entirely sure what that phrase means, but each of its constituent elements - dancing, Europe, clubs and pop music - are reasonably appealing, so we're happy to give Michelle the benefit of the doubt.
The lead single, 'We Break The Dawn', is about hitting the town and shaking your rump "til' the morning light". As Destiny's Child solo singles go, it isn't quite 'Work', but it's much, much better than 'Baby Boy' and 'Check On It'. There's no UK release date yet, but our friend at Michelle's label reckons it's likely to be out some time in August.

Does anyone know when this track is going to be available for download from the UK I-Tunes? I love this song. It is fantastic and really rivals the efforts of Beyonce and Kelly. Michelle is the first DC member to release a 3rd solo album away from Destiny's Child (her first mainstream effort) then it shows she has real talent.

I love this song! Disovered it yeterday and since haven't stopped playing it. Lets be real she doesn't show her entire vocal ablilty in this song and i hope her other releases are more vocally changelled. But I'm definitely going to support her!

I love michelles new stuff i have heard so many new songs from her new album Unexpected and i cant wait for it. We Break The Dawn in my opinion is far better that work and most of Kelly's music and beyonce's but i think im the only person who doesnt really like beyonce lol anyway i cant wait for the singles and album to be released in the UK 2008 is Michelles year as she says expected the unexpected

i've had issues with beyonce since the early days of DC.. all u hear is her voice..im glad the rest are doing their own thing.. kelly is successful in her own right, for being a talented singer.. even tho u hardly heard her sing on a DC trak! michelle is killin it with this song.. her voice is amazin... neva realised how much until nw cos of course the warbler beyonce was shoutin on top of everythn... n to point out aswell.. la toya frm the original DC.. she has an amazin voice 2 and quite a few gr8 trax... i wish evry other member of DC gr8 success in singing... and not mke urself higher by marryin sme rapper....

sorry just thought i'd add... I love Kelly, but I agree with alastair when it comes to Beyonce, this is how you do it propally. She looks and sounds amazing without looking sad because she tries to hard! Michelle deserved and still does deserve so much more credit...at least it would've meant we heard less from Beyonce "winging warbler try-hard" Knowles.

Wow - very instant. Catchy song begging for a Freemasons mix. Prefer this to the original work by Rowland... I actually saw all three girls on their final tour. Me and partner totally blown away by Michelle's voice, singing live she made Beyonce look like an overblown amateur.

first of all, her gospel albums were a success and they were awesome! so far, all the songs that have been leaked or have come out are awesome and i can't wait to buy the album. some people need to get out of the beyonce wake and give the other two the benefit of a doubt! kelly's album was awesome by the way, it was so RnB! people just won't give other artists a chance. they are too caught up with already established artists... nothing against them, but unfair in a sense.

great song, well done michelle, totaly didnt expect this and i actually prefer this to anything beyonce and kelly have ever done. it reminds me a bit of chris brown's song 'forever'.
