CHRIS CORNELL - why mess with success (and what exactly did he mess up?! Not a thing as far as most people - "You Know My Name" was VERY well received!!!)

Chris Cornell!! His last theme song "You Know My Name" was a hit, so saying he messed things up is totally absurd. A new Bond (everyone loved him), a new songwriter (everyone loved Chris's song - regardless of what this article says), I say why mess with SUCCESS???!!!

What's up with the Chris Cornell and Sheryl Crow bashing (ahem...two artists who CLEARLY have their acts together)??!! Honestly, I'm not familiar with Sheryl's song, but Chris's "You Know My Name" from the last Bond movie was AWESOME - and a stand-alone hit. Chris Cornell also has quite a (superb) resume with movie soundtracks in general: From his (years ago) cameo/music ("Seasons") in the pretty obscure 90's flick, 'Singles', to the more recent "Sunshower" ('Great Expectations'), and the 'Mission Impossible' stunner, "Mission", Cornell has been pretty damn successful at this stuff - so maybe you should re-think your not-so-flattering comment about Mr. Cornell before you speak/write again!!!! He ABSOLUTELY has a proven track record of HITS!!!

One name no one's mentioned that I know of who would sound incredible with an Arnold composed track is Natasha Bedingfield. She's an awesome, sensuous but raw vocal quality that I prefer to Miss Whinehouse anyday. Chris Cornell was an imaginative choice in 2006. I want Eon to follow suit and look outside the Biz page of The Sun.

Has to be Amy Wino. "They tried to make me go to Q branch, but I said no, no, no...." :P

I think Goldfrapp would be the ideal choice to do the new song. They have a real John Barry vibe going on with a lot of their stuff and Alison Goldfrapp's voice would be perfect. And I thought both Sheryl Crow and Chris Cornell's songs were excellent - whereas in my opinion, Duran Duran made one of the worst in history.

I think Leona Lewis should definitely sing the bond tune. She's a megastar in the UK and the States, Alicia Keys isn't that BIG in the UK, 2 big hits 2 date here, Fallin and No One, that's it!!! Def Leona should do it, or else Duffy . . . Warwick Avenue is brill

I've always thought Robbie Williams should do a Bond theme, he'd be perfect for it.

Chris Cornell's "You Know My Name" for Casino was very solid, and fit well with the film! It's a strong song from an incredible singer. I'd like to know just what about his work "made a mess of things." I feel like the next artist will need to be pretty innovative to 'outshine' Cornell's work ;)

i think duffy should sing the theme song because her voice is soulful and unique and would fit perfectly for the movie.

As much as i cant tolerate Amy Whinohouse it has to be said she has the best voice suited to a Bond film, my only hope is they can keep her sober long enough to record it!!!!!
Tracey Felixstowe on July 17th, 2008
Having listened to The Verve's upcoming single "Love is Noise" I think they would be ideal for contributing a new theme song for the next Bond Movie

For me it has to be Leona Lewis! She has the perfect image and voice and personally, I couldn't think of someone better! If not Leona, then Amy Winehouse!

How can you say Sheryl Crow and Chris Cornell messed things up? I'm not a fan of either but both they're Bond themes were great. I think you mean Tom Jones and Madonna who made the two worst Bond themes in history. As for this year's it's been so drawn out I don't really care anymore, so long as the film is good I'll be happy.
