She's called Lady GaGa, as her name suggests she's a bit of a Queen fan and she's a 22-year-old singer-songwriter from New York. Her debut single, 'Just Dance', is a terrific electropop track that, to nick an expression from Kylie, "goes off like a frog in a sock". It's already been No.1 in Canada, cracked the Aussie top three and, well, performed fairly respectably on the Billboard Hot 100 given how dancey it is.

And there's more. Lady GaGa - real name Stefani Germanotta - has been writing songs for the new Pussycat Dolls and Britney albums and recorded a track called 'Big Girl Now' with New Kids On The Block. In all likelihood we're going to be hearing quite a bit from her over the next 12 months or so.

'Just Dance' doesn't have a UK release date yet, but there's nothing to stop us from watching the video now, is there? It's stylish, sexy and very trendy-looking... up until the moment where Lady GaGa decides she'd quite like to hump an inflatable whale. You know, even Madonna never did that.

What do you think of 'Just Dance'? Will it be a hit in the UK? Use the space below to have your say.

I heard it during the film Make It Happen and have been listening to it ever since. Hope it gets to no 1. :)
