B-side of the Week: Pink's 'When We're Through'

Last Saturday we began our B-side of the Week feature with a bang - you can't really go wrong with a Megamix that mashes up twelve of Girls Aloud's best singles over a club-friendly bassline. This week we've sifted through the new releases and there's one B-side that stands out from the crowd. It's a bonus track on Pink's new single 'Sober' and it's called 'When We're Through'.

Like the lion's share of her Funhouse album, 'When We're Through' is all about the breakdown of Pink's marriage to motorcross star Carey Hart. "It brings you to to the brink and beats the s**t out of you," she sings here, so we're guessing it wasn't exactly a swift and pain-free affair.

Her vocals, delivered over a simple acoustic guitar line, are raspier than ever - she sounds like she chain-smoked 20 ciggies and polished off a bottle of wine before entering the recording studio. As she builds to an anguished climax that fully conveys the pain of breaking up with someone you once loved, the word "monumental" comes to mind, making 'When We're Through' a real hidden gem.
