When Annie Lennox covered Ash

Published Tuesday, Feb 3 2009, 15:46 GMT | By Nick Levine | 10 comments
As you may have heard a little while back, Annie Lennox has recorded a cover of Ash's 'Shining Light' for her upcoming 'Best Of' collection, and the result is utterly joyous. The video is also a thoroughly pleasant way to spend the next four minutes, partly because of the lovely silver catsuit Annie is wearing. If you ask us, she picked it up at Justin Hawkins's last garage sale.

Oh, and you might recognise the guitarist, the bassist, the keyboard player and the drummer...

What do you think of Annie Lennox's version of 'Shining Light'? Do you like the video? Use the space below to have your say.

Utterly diabolical. Why try to improve the excellent Ash original. Annie Lennox becomes more cringeworthy with every performance. Shudder.

She is all class and that voice is still peerless. I love this, love this, love this.

Nice to see a happy side and up lifting instead of depressing songs. Nice.

What great fun, its so nice to see Annie's fun side in a video again. Just goes to show you can help good causes and enjoy yourself at the same time. With the right promotion, this should be an enormous hit - it deserves to be anyway!
