Champers for Lily, tap water for Britney

Well, the midweeks are now in and something tells us Lily Allen's got a massive grin on her face. Here's how she and everyone else are getting along:

You Know Who is on course to do the double. 'The Fear' should remain atop the singles chart, while It's Not Me, It's You is poised to debut at number one on the albums countdown.
Alesha Dixon's 'Breathe Slow' has now climbed into the top three, so she'll probably be cracking open the bubbly too.
Shontelle's 'T-Shirt' is sniffing round the fringes of the top ten.
Britney's 'Circus', out next week, is still on a downwards spiral and has now slipped out of the top 15.
The new Morrissey single, 'I'm Throwing My Arms Around Paris', is on course to debut towards the bottom of the top 20.
Meanwhile, Saint Etienne's 'Method of Modern Love' is doing better than many had anticipated - it's currently inside the top 30.
We'll be here doing the update thing at the same time tomorrow. Fancy joining us?
P.S. We should probably mention that The Sound is now on Twitter. If you'd like to hear about our updates as they happen, you can get involved by visiting twitter.com/thesound. And feel free to give us a tweet if you feel so inclined.

Either that or record companies get their act together and release videos / single releases somewhere near the time of actual release. It's a big mess.

Circus out next week?! It's been in the chart since christmas... it's time the physical single was dumped.

So Britney's flopped again, hardly a surprise judging from the dire pile of garbage her album is.
