B-side of the Week: Ladyhawke's remixes

La Roux may currently be spearheading the synth-pop revival, but take a look at recent albums charts and you'll see that Ladyhawke's debut disc, which also owes a significant debt to the pop sounds of the 80s, has been steadily shifting units over the last few months. Her first single 'Back Of The Van' is being re-released on Monday, and with no fewer than eight remixes to choose from, it's the obvious choice for our B-side of the Week.

While the original is a blend of 80s rock and pop laden with Fleetwood Mac undertones, the 'Back Of The Van' remixes have clearly been put together with a view to filling dancefloors. Whether it's the minimal 'Mock and Toof Remix', the thumping house of the 'Van She Tech Fire Engine Mix' or the 'Wawa' dance mix, Ladyhawke and her knob-twiddling mates are hellbent on getting us up and onto our feet.

Our pick of the crop? The insistent, summery and really quite euphoric 'Fred Falke Ultimate Mix', a 30-second clip of which appears below. All eight remixes can be found on the 'Back Of The Van' download bundle, but if it's the 7" that you want, you'll have to hurry down to the record shop on Monday morning because it's limited edition!
