Preston, is that really you?

Oh yes, it's a case of goodbye ska-pop, hello electro for former Ordinary Boys frontman and CBB star Preston. His debut solo single's called 'Dressed To Kill', it features a big old sample from Siouxsie & the Banshees' 'Happy House' and it's the very definition of an unexpected delight. Press play below to watch the video, which is so evocative of a certain place and time about 25 years ago it makes La Roux's eighties schtick seem almost half-arsed.
What do you think of 'Dressed To Kill'? Do you like Preston's new direction? Use the space below to have your say.

Siouxsie has more talent in her little finger than Preston. If you havent heard the original "Happy House" try it out, youll enjoy it more than this.

Jumping on the Twilight bandwagon? Shameless. Catchy though - I like it.

wow....i am in shock! that was absolutely brilliant and his voice really suits this style of music. I did enjoy the ordinary boys music, but this is a genius move i think for him. Two thumbs up :)

Im not usually big on the eighties sound but i love this! I think Preston is really underrated in terms of talent and it will be interesting to see how this does....

Not at all to do with the fact that guitar bands are last year's chip paper and electro/retro synth bands are. Preston you tart.

I really love this, I never expected something this good from him, the 80s sound right now is brilliant, but he shows La Roux how its really done!

It all seems very Ricky Gervais, and his short lived eighties pop career- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6G9uGPQsVNk&feature=player_embedded. Have we really come full circle to THAT? It all seems very silly and desperate to me, and I hope that it doesn't become a success- because there are way better artists doing this kind of thing like Florence & The Machine and La Roux. And the fact that a bloke's now doing '80s', without any real individuality- apart from being good looking- is laughable.
