Backstreet's back... alright?

More than alright, a lot more than alright actually. Their new single 'Straight Through My Heart' is a RedOne-produced pop anthem that cleverly updates the classic BSB sound for 2009. The verses operate at a very danceable midtempo, the big synthy chorus hits you like a smack in the face, and the lyrics work a brilliantly boyband love-as-gunshot metaphor: "Straight through the heart, a single bullet got me, I can't stop the bleeding..."

loved STMH as soon as i heard it. Its about time the label released an uptempo track, i realy thought TREAT ME RIGHT should have been released instead of HWSS and now i think the suits have been listening to the fans and got it right this time around. Cant wait for the concert in Dublin in November ? KTBSPA

This song is fab. I loved it as soon as I heard it. Can't wait till November. Finally getting to meet them too which is great. Hope the album is as good as the single. Fantastic.

Ruby, they never split up at all actually so have never had a 'reunion' album. They just took more time between their fourth and fifth albums. With regards to STMH - its awesome! So glad BSB r finally releasing an uptempo. Hope it does well in the charts.

I love it, but I love the BSB's anyway. It reminds me of some of the fab uptempo numbers on their last album. I'll be sweeping that new album off the shelf when it's out in October.

I really liked it! I'm glad they're back at making uptmepo music :) "Treat Me Right" and "Everything But Mine" were real treats on their last album. I hope that some of those leaked demos like "Fallen Angel" and "Hollogram" are on the album :) Specially those two, they ere SO good!

The song grew on me after a couple of listens. It's not like they've just reunited though, like some articles are implying. They reunited in 2005 (before Take That's comeback), and had their second reunion album out just last year!

You can hear RedOne all over that, it sounds very much like Lady GaGa's Just Dance, not exactly a bad thing. I'm seeing them in November too, really looking forward to it, first time i've been able to see them, been a fan since i was a kid, i just turned 27!
