Update: Tinchy, Eminem, Britney

Published Wednesday, Aug 5 2009, 11:50 BST | By Nick Levine | 18 comments
It's a slither before noon on a Wednesday, which makes it just about time for a midweeks update.

  • The top three still runs Tinchy 'n' Amelle - Black Eyed Peas - Mr Hudson.

  • It's onwards and upwards for Eminem's 'Beautiful', which is now a couple of places outside the top ten.

  • Little Boots's 'Remedy' has swapped places with 'Keep Your Head Up' by Girls Can't Catch.

  • There's good and bad news for Frankmusik, with his album slipping out of the top five, but 'Confusion Girl' bouncing back into the top 30.

  • Pink's 'Funhouse' has now crept into the top 30 too.

  • Oh, and there's still no sign of Britney's 'Radar' inside the top 40.

  • Any other requests for Friday?

britney is never going to make it with such an old song. Can we have an update on where girls cant catch are please

It looks like Tinchy Stryder has taken over the pole position of most number ones this year between Lady GaGa and Black Eyed Peas with his second number one of the year and Amelle's second number one as a soloist and she only had a number one as part of the Sugababes back in 2007 with 'About You Now'. Now that Eminem could leap up back to the top three on Friday with 'Beautiful'. let you decide !!

I feel sorry for Work, it's a great song. :( I hope Funhouse gets Top 10 and Frank's album does well. Radarr is flopping cos of such shit promotion. Really hope Remedy does well too.

I can't believe Ciara's new song Work didn't reach the top 40. That song is amazing but I don't think it received much airplay. Tinchy 'n' Amelle defintiley deserve no.1 though!

Come on funhouse!!!! Beautiful is so boring, how can it dare to even look at the top ten!

Dan - I agree! =[ I don't think it has to do with promotion that much, as her Blackout singles did great in the UK, and they got no such promotion at all. I think it has to do with her miming on the X-Factor, to be honest. She lost many people's repect from doing that, even though she has done it for years. Hopefully Radar will have crept in the top 40 by Friday!

Britney's management have cocked everything up. Radar is over 18 months old. Why release it now when everyone who liked the song has already downloaded it when Blackout was released. If you remember, Radar was one of the tracks that people were downloading most, along with Gimme more and Piece of me. There is noone left who wants to buy the song, because all the potential buyer already have it. Heads should roll for that mistake.

Not surprised Britney's not in the top 40. It's an old song from the previous album basically. I hope Confusion Girl does well and Funhouse.
Dan, Manchester, on August 5th, 2009
It's unbelievable how Britney's singles fail to chart well these days! "If You Seek Amy", "Circus" and "Radar" are as good as pop songs get and none have made top 10. I know they're not promoted but I would expect songs like that to carry themselves.
Lewis, Peterborough, on August 5th, 2009
Ian Carey Project for Friday please?
    Chaz, on August 5th, 2009
wtf is beautiful doing anywhere near the top 10? its so boring & bland.. and the girls can't catch song is just bloody crap. anyway, tinchmelle or #1! and for all those asking about gaga's paparazzi yesterday, it's #9 :)
Jordan Johnson, Newcastle, on August 5th, 2009
so is remedy higher or lower than girls cant catch? hope black eyed peas can get to #1 again. bad news for britney..
