Next up for the Dolly Rockers

Published Friday, Sep 11 2009, 16:26 BST | By Nick Levine | 17 comments
We know 'Gold Digger' wasn't what you'd call a chart-conquering smash, and we realise that some of you like them slightly less than you like mosquito bites, but here at DS we've got a massive soft spot for the Dolly Rockers. The next single's pretty vital of course, which is probably why they've tried something different. It's called 'Boys Will Be Boys' and it's a rockier effort that lands somewhere between The Veronicas and prime Shampoo. That Dollys lip is still present and correct though, with this being our favourite couplet: "You tell your friends that you're so rich, but you're just Daddy's trust fund bitch." Zing! Press play below if you're feeling intrigued.

The big question: Is 'Boys Will Be Boys' going to get the Dollys on the radio?

will everybody give these girls a break? I mean seriously! just because they've slagged off girl bands, doesnt mean their music has to suffer and its not like they do it in there songs is it? I think they're something refreshing, a girl band with an interesting twist which other recent ones are lacking, and believe me, I'm a Saturdays fan! they may slag other people off but at the end of the day, they're just 3 other humans with opinions like the rest of us as for the song? I LOVE IT!

this song is good enough for the airwaves. they need to promote though, change there attitudes slightly and get a decent budget behind them!

I can see that these girls don't get the hint from their other awful song! The dolly trotters give it up! If you wasn't so busy dissing all these girlbands that are so much better than you, you would be able to make better music! You want to diss the saturdays, well i don't see you lot nominated for an EMA? I also don't see you having a 27 date tour? Oh wait i don't see you at all!

i wasn't a fan of them at first but this song has redeemed themselves!!! its so good and really catchy!!! i love it. they are a different type of girlband which is what i like, they aren't too popy!!! hope for a top 10 or top 20!!!

It's better than their previous two, but I still don't really like their sound. The Saturdays, Girls Aloud and Sugababes are still far superior.

Better than the abysmal first track - this actually sounds like it was recorded and produced with a budget of more than £5 and there are definitely hints of Hot N Cold in it. It isn't perfect, though, and they don't come across particularly well either, so doubt this will make a huge impact.

Won't ever give them a chance, after slagging off other bands, they are silly little girls.

This song is completely different to Gold Digger - and far better! If you didn't lke either of their previous singles, don't assume this is the same... because it isn't! Just give it a listen, hopefully this will be the hit they need. (:

this song is much much better than the dreadful first single! god knows why the hell DS was praising it so much. anyway i hope the girls get some sort of a chance with this song, a decent video would be a start. i think they need 2 change there attitudes slightly if they are going to succeed though

Thanks Terry, but I made up my mind having listened to both singles, how they control themselves in interviews and their image and I can confidently say, I do not like them.
Terry, Glasgow, on September 11th, 2009
people need to actually listen to the music instead of reading the damn tabloids and saying the music is bad because of what's written in there. this is a fab song and miles better than gold digger!
Brad, on September 11th, 2009
Song is ok but i dont like their personalities and them starting on the saturdays :S so yeah hope they dont do well
Michael, London, on September 11th, 2009
Stop plugging them! They're horrendous.
Goonernatalie UK, on September 11th, 2009
I think it will be good to dance to but not to just sit back and listern to.
Becca, Peterborough, on September 11th, 2009
Too right some people around here don't like them! They were essentially bullying other girlbands! Insulting them and taking the mick when they themselves hadn't even released their first single! They claim the X factor is rubbish and they hate it, but they never stop going on about their time there! Sorry but DS you've got it SO wrong this time!
