Keisha Buchanan, we salute you

Keisha Buchanan co-founded Sugababes when she was 13; she recorded seven studio albums with the group; and she sang on such incredible pop songs as 'Overload', 'Freak Like Me', 'Round Round', 'Push The Button', 'About You Now'... we could go on and on.

Thank you very much Keisha - and best of luck with the solo career.

What do you think of Keisha leaving Sugababes? What sort of replacement will Jade Ewen be? Are you looking forward to Keisha's solo career?

I been following the Sugababes for 3 years now and I think that they will have little success since Keisha left.Jade is good but doesn't have the same spark and fire that keisha has.

It's such a shame how things have worked out for this group, it's like the only decent UK pop act in years is finally finished. I'm the same age as Keisha/ Mutya and grown up with their music so it's quite a contrast to see the "group" now. It's was very rare to see a teenage group sing live (well), write songs and do things outside of the mainstream sound. As each original member left it seemed a bit harder to identify with the group and was hanging onto Keisha to keep the dream going and have someone to identify not only as a front figure but as an element of someone would did more than just sing. The new group just portray everything that the originals didn't want, it's all about sex, looking good and not really supplying a message or concept, which is basically PCD in english boots really! They really need to let the name go and do something different, they are already in talks with previous producers of the "Three" album and hearing that from Amelle is very strange since she's not really part of that history. Although Heidi was there I can't really picture her as a creative force, as she's stated her main influences are the usual "madonna/whitney/Mariah" which doesn't leave a good taste in your mouth if you're a music fan! Plus she's not the best signer in the group eitherJade would have been better off staying solo but if the record company was stupid enough record an album with her and scrap it, oh well!!Good luck to the original be it solo or reunion (fingers crossed) sure they'll do well! New group - start applying for presenting jobs or singing house tunes, it was over before you started your shifts in the sugababe v4.0 camp :(

Hey! It is interesting how everyone now like Siobhan and miss her, but when she left noone really cared about it. I think we all should admit that Mutya, Heidi and Keisha were the real sugababes. And thinking about what Siobhan said about K and M, i can't beleieve how close they are now..it's a bit hipocritical..and honestly Mutya left the band cause she wanted to spend more time with her daughter?? Well, i see that wasn't really great time according that she didn't wait very long to go solo:D i think we will never find a truth of any decisions any of sugababes did...they are all acting like 10 years old girls...

I don't have anything against Jade Ewen, she's a talented, beautiful young woman and this split is not her fault, people shouldn't attack her. But I do believe that Keisha was such an elemental and iconic part of the group that without her I can't really recognize the Sugababes anymore. Heidi can be considered an original band member since the group saw their first big successes with her, but looking at the new photographs of the group, the new music, the new lineup, I feel that it's just too much change for me or other fans to take.

Despite the fact I liked Jade Ewen before this "replacement" thing and she seemed to be a good singer, I cannot stand thinking of Sugababes without Keisha. I wish them luck, but it would be amazing to listen to first line-up of Sugababes again. So I hope they will make something together - Keisha, Mutya and Siobhan ;)

I can't wait for Keisha's solo material! As everybody predicted the Sugarfakes have been in decline since Keisha left and Keisha is well out of it!!! 2010 is Keisha's year!!!

I saw the girls backstage in Germany for one of their first big performances. It was obvious they were going to be huge. I loved Mutya but was even more impressed by Kiesha when I found out She was not only singing, but also writing most of the songs. The woman is seriously talented and I am sure it will not be long until She adds more hits to her singer/songwriter repertoire. With Muyta and Kiesha the babes were still the babes. Even when Kiesha was the last original member, it was still the babes, because Kiesha co-wrote 80% of the albums, including the last one. The group as it stands now is not a group and has lost the soul/magic which is was the Sugarbabes. I do not think it will last long now, unless the record company buys chart positions or something like that. Kiesha and Mutya are both extremely talented Artists, who have been basically robbed of what they created. I hope they can one day get it back, if they want it. And yes I know it takes a whole bunch of people to make success happen, but if You have no product, what use is a store?

To be honest listening to the two recorded versions of the About A Girl release, Jade has a much better voice than Keisha. She's equally as sexy and I think their recent form will carry on with catch pop/r&b tunes which Heidi & Amelle have been a part of. Sugababes is a brand, and thats not a bad thing, so long as that brand produce great songs. I'd be interested to hear what sort of music the original 'babes' would come up with should they get back together!

I think I reperesent alot of true Sugababe fans, when I say, Sugababes is no longer Sugababes now there are no original members in the band. The "new" girls may make good music but should do so under a new name. Sugababes - 1998-2009 Best of Luck Keisha! x

The rumor said that the originals of the band might reunion. Guess what? That might kill the nowadays sugababes, but I don't mind really. It was alright until Keishe left. Unwillingly. Now that's mean but since she's starting her solo career, it'll be great for her. It's just that there's no originality left in the band anymore. I wouldn't even call it a band after Keisha's gone. But hey, they're hinting of a reunion, yays!

Keisha you are amazing singer...and think you will have an amazing solo career Good Luck xx

Sugababes was one of those rather rare pop groups that actually formed on their own spontaneously, naturally - unlike many pop groups of the 90's and 2000's that were "manufactured". In short, while said groups were all good, Sugababes took it to the next level. And with Keisha's departure - some say she was thrown out of it and with what she Tweeted I agree with this view - the Sugababes has become a brand name, no better than the "manufactured" groups. I don't hold anything against Heidi, Amelle, and Jade but please, if you look at their beginnings and what they are now, SUGABABES has died. I mean, when Siobhán left they were still great, when Mutya (my fellow countrywoman!) left they were still good as well, but with the last original member - and a creative force - gone (and against her will especially!) they've fallen apart completely. Although my favorite era was the Keisha-Mutya-Heidi part, Keisha, Mutya, and Siobhán should reunite and revive the Sugababes name, and restore it to what it once was. Goodbye, Sugababes. We will miss you.

Hi, Keisha i am big fan of yours... i was so sad when i heard you left the Sugababes with out you and Mutya the Sugababes are not so good anymore. Did your that Morning news on BBC1 i think when mutya talked and she said i would love to creat an new band with you and Me (Mutya) Thanks for reading

This group should change their name I liked the first group MUCH better and started to go off them slightly when amelle joined. I hope they disband and Keisha has a great career both here and in the states, that would be justice and shame on the managers for pushing out the best one.
hazel , ireland, on October 21st, 2009
i think keisha was the best in sugababes they won't be the same without her but am looking forward to hearing a new release from keisha i don't think the band now should keep the name as there are not the original members and i don't think of them as sugababes. good luck keisha

Jade Ewen is a hot tranny mess
kaziyah, sole street, on October 15th, 2009
erm what the hell are these people thinking chucking out kiesha to let amelle have her own way. If you ask me they been trying to do that from day but she had no power when she sold the name to who ever. Amelle just wanted to take the spotlight but jades in the group now way better than them other two shes the new leader. Erm about jade being in this group she has already got a record deal with universal so i dont see why shes in this group. Does this mean sugababes's deal is short lived if you ask me i think so. Love ya kiesh i hope your doing well maybe state side is a better option for your skills and hurry up with your song trust me it will knock the fake sugababes off the chart. X

I'm a sugababes fan for ages, and I think the best lineup is keisha, mutya and heidi. when mutya left, sugababes sound sugababes because of keisha's vocal. listening to about a girl with jade ewens, i don't feel it's a sugababes song anymore. it don't feel like it. the new lineup's voice sound really generic. Sweet 7 will be the first sugababes album that i won't be getting a physical copy.

it was mutya and keisha that were a duo then met siobhan at a party. i miss keisha and why she was pushed out of the group is annoying as she has been there since day one, it should have amelle and does any one else notice that amelle has got a smug look now that keisha has gone on the new line up picture. i can't even listen to their music now as keisha has gone.
Chris Go, Manila, on October 6th, 2009
I don't care whether SIOB or MUT-MUT didn't hit commercial success, the message their album brings is so much more than album sales. Since all three of them loved the album ONE TOUCH so much, I hope Keisha releases and album very much like one touch.. raw, unedited and on the edge. RIP sugababes.. you'll be missed.
