Update: JLS, Laura White, Chris Brown, Ke$ha

Published Wednesday, Nov 4 2009, 12:43 GMT | By Nick Levine | 17 comments
Today's update is packed like Terry Wogan's trousers, so let's get right down to it.

  • JLS's 'Everybody In Love' is still holding off Cheryl Cole's 'Fight For This Love' at the top, while Black Eyed Peas' 'Meet Me Halfway' has climbed into the top three.

  • Chase & Status's 'End Credits' is a couple of places inside the top ten - right ahead of GaGa's 'Bad Romance' and Miley's 'Party In The USA'.

  • Laura White's 'You Should Have Known' has moved into the top 30, with Chris Brown's comeback single 'I Can Transform Ya' a place behind.

  • Ke$ha's 'Tik Tok' - going great guns on iTunes since being made available to download yesterday - has already cracked the top 40.

  • Over on the albums countdown, the top three is still a Jovi - Coley - Bublé affair.

  • Sadly, at present there's no sign of Joss Stone's latest in the top 40, but check back on DS the day after tomorrow for our revealing interview with the lady herself.

  • Phew! Does anyone else need a lie down after all that?

I think there's too many chart entries every week and they need to cut back on early releases, but anyway, good luck on Ke$ha. I also hope Laura White fairs better in the coming weeks, especially Bon Jovi (which is not mentioned above). I'm glad that JLS is hanging on the top spot and Leona may topple that next week, good luck on her too!

hmm, i'm torn on the early release of Tik Tok. it's an awesome song, one of my favourites of the year, but i think being released early could make it suffer in the charts with all the high-charting songs out at the moment and over the next few weeks. still think it will sell lots. also, nice to see Chase & Status in the top 10, didn't expect that at the start of the week.

So glad Laura is climbing but should be much higher still. Poor Joss, i love her! Colour Me Free is amazing actually. By far the best album of the year so far. If it doesn't make the top 40 by Sunday, i think i will cry. Joss is climbing though on the itunes album chart ( went from 84 on Monday to 20 today ) so please keep me posted about where Joss and Laura are tomorow. Also how well is Pixie Lott - Cry me out doing as she seems to be threatening to break the itunes top 40 at the moment?

Mike from Reading, on November 4th, 2009
Is Journey Don't Stop Believin' likely to make the top 40?
Ben, Manchester, on November 4th, 2009
Now people won't be able to claim that Black Eyed Peas got near the top of the charts, because of x factor, they are already there, but they prob will go to 2 next week, behind Leona.

Love, love, love Tik Tok!!! It's been around for yonks, but has only recently started getting big in US and several other countries in the last couple of weeks. I notice it wasn't supposed to be released until the end of the month here, but there was one of those stupid 'karaoke' versions doing the rounds, so I guess they had to rush it out. The fact its top ten on iTunes after 1 day and with barely any promotion (as far as I'm aware) suggests it could be biiiiiiig!
