Have you heard the Diana Vickers single yet?

If not, sack off your emails, pop on your headphones and toddle over to YouTube to listen to the radio rip right this minute... erm, as soon as you've finishing reading this informative and entertaining piece.

Anyway, it's called 'Once' and that's precisely the number of times we had to listen to it before deciding it was brilliant. It begins in midtempo electropoppy fashion before Diana trills a surprisingly anguished bridge - "I'm only gonna let you kill me once" - and the track explodes into a socking great chorus of "Once, once, once, once, yeah..." That's what you get when your debut single's written by Eg 'Leave Right Now' White and Cathy 'Oh Heck Where To Start?' Dennis, we suppose.

Anyway, it just remains to say that, whomsoever she may have been impersonating in the West End recently, Diana still sings the way she did on The X Factor. That might put some of you off, but for us it's her hiccupy yelp that turns 'Once' - already a cracking pop track - into something a little bit special.

What do you think of 'Once'? Is it what you were hoping for from Diana Vickers? Use the space below to have your say.

Brilliant track! So catchy and different to anything else in the charts!

Seriously? I can't stand the girl, whether she's talking or singing - however I would still give her credit if this song was good. But I honestly can't hear what's so great about Once, to me it just sounds dull and repetitive, with a chorus that goes nowhere. If it wasn't 'her off of X Factor' no-one would care about this song, that's for sure.

i love this song so much i am so glad they gave her a chance at the music industry, i think that it may not be to everyones taste, but if you liked her on the X Factor you will fall in love with this!

Sharon what the hell?! compairing jedward to diana! i agree diana isnt to everyones taste but jedward arent a patch on her in my opinion her single is amazing, and well worth the wait. and even if diana had released a cover straight after coming out of x-factor, it would have been a million times better than ANYTHING the abomination that is jedward would of done. anyway cannot wait to see diana on tour!

My favourite contestent on x factor ever . the fact that she is writing her own music on the first album is just amazing. the album is going to be so cool... honestly cant wait for diana vickers first solo video :) x love her

I've missed her so much lol Listening to "Once" non stop, its amazing i cannot wait for her album!!! For me Diana has intrduced us all to a new, mesmorising way of singing, no one like her before! Its awesome, she shouldn't change a thing. :)

When I first saw Diana on the X-Factor I knew she was something special, and I was gutted when she came in at first place. It's taken her label long enough to put a single out, and now I can see why. One listen to this song and you can tell it's going to be a hit. Say what you want about her voice, like it or not, put on or natural, the fact remains that this is a bloody good pop tune and is destined for chart success.

i do not like this girls voice, its so put on. the song is drab, the usual kind of thing radio 1 loves. i will not be looking forward to hearing this since everyone on her loves it so much! most annoying song of the year so far! i think shes missed her big chance, she should have been out right after x factor like jedward are doing, i can barely remember her on x factor

Charlie Jackpot, Gloucester on February 1st, 2010 Her voice sounds so affected and not natural at all - and what possibly led to her having throat problems before. I never enjoyed her performances on The X Factor but thought I would give this a listen after the short clip on Popjustice wasn't completely unlistenable - but this isn't good. For a good repetitive chorus check out Want by Natalie Imbruglia -------------------------------------------- You only probs heard it about once, do you think you like songs first time every time? I like Runrig, and some songs took me longer to like. The more you hear, you the more your like Diana has a voice like the Cranberries singer, or Annie Lennox. Amazing singer, amazing song. OK some people dont like it, you don't have to listen to it. But it doesn't take one listen to know if you are going to like it, does it?

This is such an unexpected tune but so addictive. Her voice is controversial to some but amazingly unique to others. I love the emotion she conveys in the song and really think she will be the success story of 2010!

I know not everyone 'gets' her voice, but boy, is she addictive! This is so wedged in my brain now and Diana sounds frikkin awesome. This girl is special.

Love it! Its unexpected and taps into all the new La Roux and Florence electropop. Although I hope there's also some acoustic style stuff on her album as I loved that side of her voice on the x factor.
Lou, on February 1st, 2010
incredible! this girl deserves all the success shes worked so hard, supported her since xfactor, amusing how some people can't stand her voice, I think thats whats captivating about her music.,look at the way she sings this! cant wait for the album xD

Diana Vickers is going to be the biggest breakthrough artist of 2010! Her debut single is incredibly fresh and edgy. It's like nothing we've heard before. If this single and her album don't both get to #1, I will eat my hat! Diana is special.

She was so amazing in Little Voice and now this, wow. Great first single, so different from what I would have expected but just awesome. Watch out for this girl in 2010!
