DS Playlist: 10 tracks you need to hear

By and Lewis Corner
Looking for some new music? Bored of hearing the same songs time and time again on your iPod? Fear not, as your trusty DS scribes are offering up ten fresh cuts each week to keep you in the know.

1. Jennifer Lopez: 'I'm Into You'
Capitalising on the success of her comeback hit 'On The Floor', Jen is wasting no time on a follow-up. This second release from her forthcoming album Love? might not have the same impact as her current effort, but we reckon this tropical/latino mashup could be her 'What's My Name?'.

2. Nero: 'Gulit'
Fast-becoming the leaders of euphoric dubstep, Nero's latest track mashes epic synths, distorted bass and heavy break-beats to create an uber-cool ensemble which is sure to become a staple on our summer playlist.

3. Kylie Minogue 'Aphrodite'
Currently soaking Londoners with her 'splash zone' on tour, Kylie asks: "Can you feel me in the stereo?" over her upbeat, bop-inducing album title track that has 'summer strut' written all over it. Question: Why hasn't this been released as a single yet?

4. Patrick Wolf: 'House'
Wolf's last outing 'The City' is an early contender for anthem of the summer, and judging by his next offering, impeding album Lupercalia will follow suit. Hear the track on his latest video blog:

5. Natalia Kills: 'Wonderland'
will.i.am's new protege Natalia Kills talks of disillusionment in her new single, the follow-up to her debut 'Mirrors', insisting that she doesn't "believe in fairytales" over a combination of catchy electric guitar riffs and haunting choir harmonies.

6. Pnau: 'The Truth'
Aussie duo Pnau are gearing up to release their new album Soft Universe this year following a three-year hiatus that saw member Nick Littlemore dabble with face paint and electronic synths as one half of Empire of the Sun. 'The Truth' is the first lifted from the record, which is to have Elton John amongst its contributors.

7. Kurt Vile: 'Jesus Fever'
With Easter fast-approaching, there is no better time for Philadelphia rocker Kurt Vile to unveil the promo for 'Jesus Fever' - the latest cut from his highly-acclaimed third LP Smoke Ring From My Halo. Watch the clip below:

8. Adele & Britney Spears: 'Rolling Till the World Ends'
Proof that a remix album of Adele's 21 wouldn't sound so bad after all.

9. Sound of Arrows: 'Nova'
The Swedish duo finally release their first proper single 'Nova' from the album of the same name on April 25. With a nod to the Pet Shop Boys circa 1986, this dreamy dance number should hopefully see them break the top 40.

10. Foo Fighters: 'Arlandria'
Sandwiched in the middle of their comeback album Wasting Light, this standout has an old-school charm to it reminiscent of their biggest chart hits.
