1. Frankmusik ft. Far*East Movement: 'Do it in the AM'
Following up last year's indie release 'The Fear Inside', Vincent Frank has hooked up with US electro-hop foursome Far*East Movement for the title track of his sophomore LP which, judging from this synthy club-pop cut, is shaping up very nicely indeed.
2. Metronomy: 'The Look'
Taking time out from working on Nicola Roberts's debut album, Joseph Mount and Co. have effortlessly infused the sound of a seaside-pier organ into their latest single and turned it into a suave and trendy chill-out track.
3. Jon Giovanni: 'Big Bamboo'
After invading dancefloors with 'Take Off' earlier this year, the latest signing to Sinden's Grizzly imprint - a Grammy-award winning artist going under the alias of Jon Giovanni - is following it up with this Rio Carnival-inspired dance number, out on May 2.
4. Sophie Ellis-Bextor: 'Starlight'
Finally with a firm release date for her
5. Treetop Flyers: 'Things Will Change'
Winners of this year's Glastonbury 'Emerging Talent' award, London-based indie-folk band Treetop Flyers release their debut EP Things Will Change ahead of their Glasto appearance on May 23. Watch an acoustic performance of the title track below:
6. Katy Perry: 'Last Friday Night'
Fresh from copping off with extra terrestrials, Katy Perry is already pushing forward with single number five from her Teenage Dream LP. Inspired by her penchant for streaking, this fluffy pop-rock number complete with monster sax solo is already soundtracking our late-night summer dos... as well as the mornings after.
7. Hurts: 'Better Than Love' (Freemasons remix)
As we pass the one-year anniversary of this track's original premiere, remix stalwarts Freemasons have given it a loving reswizzle, reinvigorating the tune into a brawny club anthem in time for its re-issue on May 1.
8. Lupe Fiasco: 'Words I Never Said'
The second single to be lifted from his critically acclaimed Lasers album, Lupe has collaborated with hip-hop feature vocalist of the moment Skylar Grey for this electronic rap number, officially out on May 15.
9. Clare Maguire: 'The Shield and the Sword'
A thumping beat and melodic strings teamed with an Annie Lennox-inspired vocal makes this mid-tempo pop ballad a formidable third single from the Brummie songstress, which is officially released on May 8.
10. Peter Bjorn and John: 'Second Chance'
The Swedish trio unofficially known as PB&J experienced minor UK success with 2006's 'Writer's Block', but this lead single from their forthcoming album Gimme Some should hopefully see them regain chart glory:
