Ani Lorak: 'Shady Lady'
Representing Ukraine in 2008, this Cheryl-Cole-meets-Jennifer-Lopez number just lost out to Russia's Dima Bilan. Taking a leaf out of her own song, today she is listed as country's wealthiest female... who knew Eurovision could be so lucrative?
Love City Groove: 'Love City Groove'
The pop-rap trio represented Britain in 1995 with this self-titled effort. Coming in a disappointing (for its time) tenth place, its attitude-packing style may have lacked any Euro-friendly qualities but still managed to sell over 200,000 copies on these shores.
Stefan Raab: 'Wadde Hadde Dude Da'
TV presenter, comedian and musician Stefan Raab Sheer represented Germany back in 2000 with this ballsy pop-offering, which translates to 'What do you have there?'. It should have won for its sheer ballsiness, but nonetheless placed an impressive fifth.
Gina G - 'Ohh Ahh... Just A Little Bit'
With her skimpy gold-plated frock and over-enthusiastic neon backing dancers, this wonderfully camp disco-pop number finished in a disappointing eighth place for the UK in 1996 - arguably too modern for the panel-only voting system at the time.
Verka Serduchka: 'Danzing'
Ukraine's 2007 effort proved that GaGa didn't start the trend for outrageous stage costumes. Armed with a pumping techno beat and a worryingly addictive accordion hook, Serduchka narrowly missed out on bagging Ukraine the win and had to settle for second place.
Best of luck to Blue tomorrow. You can watch this year's contest, broadcast live from Dusseldorf, this Saturday from 8pm on BBC One.
