Playlist: 10 tracks you need to hear

Published Monday, Jun 6 2011, 10:34 BST | By Robert Copsey and Lewis Corner | 4 comments
Below are ten of our favourite tracks this week, including Coldplay, Joe Jonas, Nicola Roberts and Michelle Branch.

Michelle Branch: 'Loud Music'
Singer-songwriter Michelle Branch is gearing up to release her first solo album in eight years, titled West Coast Time, following a brief stint as one half of country duo The Wreckers. Trailer 'Loud Music' - helmed by longtime co-producer John Shanks - is a welcome return to her pop-rock roots with a twist for 2011. Listen to the full track below:

Coldplay: 'Every Teardrop Is A Waterfall'
Returning after three years of touring the globe, the pop-rock four-piece have unveiled the lead track from their fifth studio album. Infusing a light disco sample from Peter Allen's '70s hit 'I Go To Rio' with a wistful electronic-folk sound, Chris Martin and co. have armed themselves with yet another crowd-pleaser for their headline slot at Glastonbury later this month.

Six D: 'Best Damn Night'
Following their buzz track '2 Seconds', street dancers/singers Six D release their debut single 'Best Damn Night' on July 24. A club-thumping R&B-pop track with a hi-NRG chorus, the result is the music equivalent of a double vodka and red bull...and without the painful hangover.

Maverick Sabre: 'Let Me Go'
Known to his mates as Michael Stafford, veteran of the underground soul-hip-hop scene Maverick Sabre broke into the mainstream last year featuring on Professor Green's 'Jungle'. Now signed to Mercury records, his debut single proper combines his eerie and unusual vocals with a stellar chorus.

LMFAO ft. Natalia Kills: 'Champagne Showers'
With her buzz track 'Mirrors' failing to make an impact on the UK charts, Natalia Kills has teamed up with the uncle-nephew party duo and label mates LMFAO for their latest club pumper 'Champagne Showers'. Their sophomore album, Sorry for Party Rocking, follows on June 20.

Kaiser Chiefs: 'Little Shocks'
After a three-year break, the Britpop band return with the do-it-yourself LP The Future Is Medieval, which was made available online last Friday. While the physical ten track version isn't out until June 27, this trailer proves that their forward thinking hasn't affected their classic post-punk sound.

Nicola Roberts: 'Beat of My Drum'
The final member to unleash some form of music away from Girls Aloud, Nicola Roberts has taken the savvy move to work with producers-du-jour Major Lazer - and the result for Team Ginge is an infectious summer anthem which marries squiffy synths, military beats and catchy chants.

Baby Monster: 'Mr Success'
Electronic pop duo Baby Monster are celebrating the release of their debut self-titled LP by giving away a free track each week until its June 27 release. The latest, called 'Mr Success', is a New Order-meets-Pulp mash-up combined with Danny Sternbaum and Marty Larson Xu's wistful vocals.

Joe Jonas: 'See No More'
Taking a break from touring with his siblings, Joe Jonas is releasing his "coming of age" record, which also serves as his debut solo single. A traditional R&B ballad backed by Chris Brown, its tinny beat, skyscraper synths and chunky chorus about heartbreak and turmoil are worlds away from his pre-adolescent pop-rock.

Johan Agebjörn & Ercola ft Queen of Hearts: 'The Last Day Of Summer'
Swedish producer Johan Agebjörn has teamed up with Queen of Hearts for his latest single, which is taken from his new album Casablanca Nights. Known for his work with fellow Swede Sally Shapiro, Agebjörn continues to infuse bop-inducing disco-beats with atmospheric electronics for an eclectic and intriguing musical ensemble.
