Playlist: 10 tracks you need to hear
Published Tuesday, Jun 28 2011, 10:53 BST | By Robert Copsey | 12 comments
Listen below to our ten favourite tracks this week, including Alicia Keys, Radiohead and David Guetta.
Maroon 5 ft. Christina Aguilera: 'Moves like a Jagger'
After hooking up with Cee Lo Green on 'Nasty', it would only be fair for Xtina to team up with fellow The Voice judge Adam Levine aka Maroon 5. With a whistle hook to rival Britney's new single 'I Wanna Go', the pair's ongoing "rivalry" is sure to rear its ugly head among fans.
Radiohead: 'Staircase'
Continuing to tradition of keeping their fans on their toes, Radiohead unveiled a brand new track last week titled 'Staircase'; a floaty, atmospheric number which will be included on their upcoming The King of Limbs - From The Basement sessions.
Britney Spears: 'I Wanna Go' (Armand Deluxe Remix Radio Edit)
The third single to be lifted from her platinum-selling Femme Fatale record, this unofficial remix by Armand Deluxe bolsters up Brit's cheeky innuendo and those infectious whistles ready for club nights everywhere. The original radio edit will be officially released on August 8.
Alicia Keys: 'A Woman's Worth' (Remix ft. Nas)
Celebrating ten years since her multi-million selling debut with a deluxe edition of Songs in A Minor, this reswizzle of her second single - which originally peaked at a criminal 18 in the UK - is a funky twist on the original that doesn't lose its piano hook.
Penguin Prison: 'Multi-Million Dollar Bill'
What do you get when you mix up-'n'-coming pop-disco wonderkid Chris Glover with R&B queen Whitney Houston? A summery funk-infused pop-ditty that will make you move your feet, that's what.
David Guetta: 'Little Bad Girl'
Serving as the second cut from his forthcoming Nothing But The Beat album, Guetta has teamed up with Taio Cruz and Ludacris for his trademark ensemble of techno synths, club beats and lyrics about gals looking amazing on the D-floor.
Melanie C: Rock Me (Steve More Radio Edit)
Currently prepping her fifth studio album, the artist formerly known as Sporty has unleashed a dance remix for the trailer single titled 'Rock Me'. Released across Europe already, Mel C's unique Liverpudlian twang will be available in the UK later this summer.
Sound of Arrows: 'Magic'
Swedish duo Stefan Storm and Oskar Gullstrand follow up April's 'Nova' with the widescreen pop number 'Magic' on July 25. The track might be three years old, but the accompanying short film adds another layer of gooey electro goodness.
Nightcrawlers ft. Taio Cruz: 'Crying Over You'
This curious collaboration sounds like a disaster on paper, and while the video is the usual pool pary/Ferrari/busty laydees affair, the track itself - out July 18 - is a surprisingly catchy summer pop ditty with a classic Taio Chorus to boot.
War of Words: 'Panic'
Little is known about this electropop duo - but given that this '80s-flecked introductory track is produced by La Roux's Ben Langmaid, we're guessing it won't be too long before all is revealed.
