Reading and Leeds Festival 2011: Hit or miss? - Poll
Published Monday, Aug 29 2011, 13:37 BST | By Robert Copsey | 5 comments
Reading and Leeds Festival celebrated its fortieth birthday this year; and its lineup proved once again that the event is far from flagging.
Muse and My Chemical Romance made full use of their headline spots by putting on spectacular light, laser and fireworks displays, while up 'n' comers Ed Sheeran, Rizzle Kicks and Cults put on impressive sets, continuing to prove exciting prospects for the future.

This year's event had been criticised for its increased branding and lack of sensational headliners, but any fears of a dull and vacuous festival were allayed when Pulp took to the stage to perform 'Common People' - the ultimate highlight, which the band first performed at Reading in 1994.

So, what did you make of this year's festival? Did the headliners live up to your expectations? How did it compare to previous years? Was the balance of acts just right, or were there too many stage clashes for your favourite acts?
