Sunday chart predictions: Example, Red Hot Chili Peppers

Wednesday's Official Chart update saw Example on course for his second number one, while Red Hot Chili Peppers looked certain to pick up their third chart-topping album. Ahead of Sunday's Official Chart, we look at Friday's midweek tally.

Example is still on top with 'Stay Awake', followed closely by Ed Sheeran's 'You Need Me, I Don't Need You' at two, while Maroon 5 and Christina Aguilera's 'Moves Like Jagger' completes the top three.

Barbadian quartet Cover Drive are still at number eight with 'Lick Ya Down', and Sean Kingston continues to scale the chart with 'Party All Night (Sleep All Day)', advancing from Wednesday's position of 15 to 12. Can it break the top ten by Sunday?

Meanwhile, David Guetta and Nicki Minaj's 'Turn Me On' vaults from 39 to 21, and Jay-Z and Kanye's 'Otis' climbs a place to 29.

On the albums chart, Red Hot Chili Peppers still lead the tally with I'm With You, followed by David Guetta's Nothing But The Beat and Will Young's Echoes in that order.

Bombay Bicycle Club slip from five to six with A Different Kind of Fix, Lil Wayne's Tha Carter remains at seven and Dolly Parton's Better Day holds firm at nine.

Next week is a biggie for singles; with releases from Leona Lewis, Pixie Lott, Ms Dynamite, The Saturdays and Snow Patrol, while Example and Melanie C will also be hoping for high entries on the album chart.
