Sunday chart predictions: One Direction, Ed Sheeran, Laura Marling

One Direction: 'What Makes You Beautiful'

Wednesday's chart update saw One Direction storm the tally with their debut single, while singer-songwriter-rapper Ed Sheeran and Laura Marling were battling it out for number one on the albums chart. Ahead of Sunday's final announcement, we look at Friday's midweeks.

One Direction continue to lead the singles chart with 'What Makes You Beautiful', followed by Maroon 5's 'Moves Like Jagger' and Pixie Lott's 'All About Tonight' in that order.

Outside the Top 10, Will Young has jumped back up the chart with 'Jealousy', which is now at 11, while Rihanna advances from Wednesday's position of 20 to 18 with 'Cheers'.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds dip from 17 to 19 with 'AKA...What A Life!', and Nicki Minaj and Rihanna's 'Fly' climbs a spot to 29.

On the albums chart, Ed Sheeran's + still resides at the top, but Laura Marling's A Creature I Don't Know has been ousted from number two by Adele's 21

The Kooks' Junk of the Heart slips from seven to nine, and Imelda May is at 24 with Mayhem.

Next week's single releases include Dappy's 'No Regrets', Jason Derulo's 'It Girl' and 'Lucky Day' from Nicola Roberts; while Kasabian will be hoping to impact the album chart with Velociraptor!.
