Rebecca Ferguson
Despite the plethora of X Factor alumni with their eye on the charts of late, we at Digital Spy have been excited about Rebecca Ferguson's debut since her heart-tugging rendition of Bob Dylan/Adele's 'Make You Feel My Love'.

As you can imagine then, we were more than a little excited when her first single 'Nothing's Real But Love' was given its first airing earlier today. In case you missed it, we've jotted down some notes about the track below:

  • It's a soul-pop ballad of the Autumnal variety.

  • It was written by the lady herself as well as pop-boff Eg White, whose credits include Diana Vickers's 'Once', Adele's 'Chasing Pavements' and Will Young's 'Changes'.

  • Her voice sounds confident but still familiar to the same Rebecca we saw on last year's X Factor.

  • It's the kind of song that could be played on Radio 1 and Radio 2.

  • "No money, no house, no car/ can beat love," is a very catchy lyric indeed.

  • It would probably occupy the intersecting space of a Venn diagram between Corinne Bailey Rae's 'Put Your Records On' and Gabrielle's 'Rise'.
  • Rebecca Ferguson: 'Nothing's Real But Love'

  • It ranks as our favourite non-winner's post-X Factor debut single.

  • She's scrubbed up nicely for the single artwork (right).

  • Better yet, listen to a clip of the song below and judge for yourselves:

'Nothing's Real But Love' is out November 27.
