Playlist: Halloween special

Disappointed by the weekend's selection of Halloween songs? Bored of whipping out your 'Thriller' moves? Well, we at Digital Spy have picked our favourite spooky songs for the final night of trick or treat festivities:

Lady GaGa: 'Monster'
Mother Monster Lady GaGa unveiled this track on 2009's The Fame Monster. While it's not strictly about vicious creatures, GaGa does liken a past flame to a metaphorical cannibal of love: "He ate my heart, then he ate my brain." LC

allSTARS*: 'Bump in the Night'
Early noughties tween-boppers allSTARS* released this spooky offering in 2001. In hindsight, the innuendo was no more hidden than Nancy's pins on this year's Strictly. Check out the crotch-thrusting music video below: RC

Professor Green ft. Example: 'Monster'
Conveniently timed for last year's Halloween, this cut from Prof Green's debut album Alive Till I'm Dead features a haunting guest spot from Example, as well as the sensational lyric: "Jade, I really did mess it up/ I missed my only chance with a Sugababe." RC

Hocus Pocus: 'I Put A Spell On You'
While the Screamin' Jay Hawkins 1956 original will forever remain a Halloween staple, the re-swizzle on Disney's 1993 film Hocus Pocus is far more party-appropriate. Watch Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker and Kathy Najimy take on the classic below: RC

Natalia Kills: 'Zombie'
Taken from her debut album Perfectionist, 'Zombie' is a bedeviled composition of eerie synths and possessed lyrics ("I'm in love with a zombie, but his heart is so cold"), while the accompanying visual is not for the faint-hearted. LC

Marilyn Manson: 'This Is Halloween'
While Danny Elfman's version puts us more in mind of Christmas, Manson's re-cut of the Nightmare Before Christmas classic adds an extra demonic twist on the original. RC

Rihanna: 'Disturbia'
The summer of 2008 saw Rihanna begin to explore her more edgy setups that we have since come to know and love. 'Disturbia' fuses haunting screeches and dark growling bass with jagged choreography and psychedelic visuals. LC

Kanye West: 'Monster'
The third single from Yeezy's critically-lauded My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy boasts a stellar cast of Jay-Z, Rick Ross, Bon Iver and Nicki Minaj. The accompanying video caused controversy when it first aired due to the amount of dead bodies featured. LC

Shakira: 'She Wolf'
Shakira channelled her inner canine for 2009's 'She Wolf', seducing fans worldwide with her flexible choreography, despite becoming a flesh-tearing monster once a month. LC

Backstreet Boys: '(Everybody) Backstreet's Back'
Okay, so the only thing spooky about this track is the accompanying music video, but truth be told, it's easily one of the best Halloween-themed clips of all time. RC
