His murder, six months after the fatal shooting of his West Coast rival Tupac Shakur, left a hole in the genre that has never quite been healed.
15 years ago today, Biggie Smalls was shot dead on the way back to his hotel after The Annual Soul Train Music Awards party in Los Angeles. We celebrate his life with five classic videos below.
