We're just going to come out and say it: we have a weakness for widescreen-pop.
For those unfamiliar with the term, it's that lighter-waving, chant-along, hands-in-the-air style of music that makes you want to clench your fists with extreme emotion and put on your best seriousface.
One new artist who's nailing such a genre is Ben Montague, who has been working with the people responsible for Snow Patrol, Manic Street Preachers and Paolo Nutini's biggest hits to ensure maximum epicness.
The results can be heard in his new single 'Love Like Stars' below:
Discussing his debut album Tales of Flying and Falling which is due out later this year, he said: "Working with Dave [Eringa of Manic Street Preachers fame] was amazing. He's a rock guy; I write pop songs.
"We bonded over old-school desks and old-school mics and a love of authentic, epic music."
The single is out in all its widescreen-pop goodness on July 8.
