Chart update: Avicii, Lana Del Rey, more

On Wednesday's chart update, Avicii was holding firm atop the singles tally, while Richard & Adam's debut album had stormed into the lead.

Ahead of Sunday's Official Chart announcement, Digital Spy takes a look at Friday's midweeks.

  • Avicii's 'Wake Me Up' remains at number one on the singles chart, followed by John Newman's 'Love Me Again' at two and Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines' at three.

  • Meanwhile, Lana Del Rey's 'Summertime Sadness' remix jumps from eight to five, and Calvin Harris lifts from ten to nine with 'Thinking About You'.


  • Further down the chart, Jay Z and Justin Timberlake's 'Holy Grail' leaps from 14 to 11, Eliza Doolittle slips from 11 to 12 with 'Big When I Was Little', and Arctic Monkeys rise from 17 to 15 with 'Do I Wanna Know?'.


  • Rudimental vault from 28 to 27 with 'Right Here', Disclosure bound from 35 to 29 with 'F For You' and Of Monsters and Men re-enter at 40 with 'Little Talks'.

  • On the album chart, Richard & Adam are still at number one with The Impossible Dream, while Jahmene Douglas remains at two with Love Never Fails.


  • Elsewhere Scouting For Girls' Greatest Hits is at six, AlunaGeorge slip from five to seven with Body Music, and Backstreet Boys fall from 11 to 13 with In A World Like This.


  • Next week's single releases include The Wanted's 'We Own The Night' and the official release of Rudimental's 'Right Here', while Swim Deep and The Civil Wars are expected to debut high on the album chart.
