Meeting Craaaaig David

Yes you read the title right, The Sound got a little one-on-one action with Mr Craig David yesterday afternoon. We met him in a private deluxe bedroom of a swanky London hotel and not only did he offer us a nibble on his croissants, he also warbled us a few snippets from his new album, revealed what he truly thinks about all this X Factor malarkey and explained why he nabbed a David Bowie sample for his comeback single. And there wasn't a pair of headphones, a kestrel or a 'bo selecta' in sight.

While you'll have to wait a couple of weeks to read about the full fruits of our afternoon tea with the Craig (We're such teases!), we can reveal now that we confronted him about his new video for the single 'Hot Stuff' (released November 5) because we were sure we'd seen some of the dances moves before...Take a look for yourselves:

Wait a minute! We've just remembered where we saw those loose-limbed leg movements last! Have a peek:

Well would you Adam and Eve it? Our Craig appears to be stealing his shapes from Mr baggy pants himself, MC Hammer. Although Craig told us he was going for a Neneh Cherry 'vibe', he confessed that his video director had muttered the words MC and Hammer while they were shooting. The Sound have got our grubby mitts on tickets to Craig's intimate show at Ronnie Scott's Jazz Club tonight, so we'll be the first to let you know if he's started donning super-sized trousers and blending 'U Can't Touch This' into 'Seven Days'.

Tell us what you think about Craig's new single, his video and what modern stars you'd like to see stealing moves from 1990. Maybe you'd like to see Kenzie from Blazin' Squad rocking the Vanilla Ice look? Westlife going all New Kids On The Block? Send us your ideas in the comments box below.

I never liked Craig David, the way he kept telling us his name in the song, say bo selecta!!! but this new song, is so unlike his old stuff, its actually quite good, it helps using a very popular song by someone else to boost his career!
