* But not, of course, until you've finished your next blog post.
"Last night was our first ever show in wee old bonny Scotland. Playing at the Cabaret Voltaire in Edinburgh, we couldn't wait to embrace our fellow Britons north of the border. The drive from home would have taken seven hours, so we thought we'd be clever and fly instead. However, when booking the flights, the time of departure escaped all of our attentions, so we found ourselves sitting in Exeter airport at 6am after four hours' sleep. No wonder it was so cheap! Bleary-eyed, we arrived in Edinburgh at 8am with nine hours to spare - another slight glitch in the plan.
Luke and Tim ate some haggis, and then we decided that the best way to kill time was to book a hotel and sleep. So we did. We only booked one room, so three of us shared a double bed, while Tim bagged himself a single by winning a quick game of rock, paper, scissors. It felt a bit like an episode of The Waltons, but at least we managed to catch up on some shut eye.
Because it was the first night of a new tour, everything was a bit manic when we turned up to load into the venue, but the Rooney guys all seemed really cool and our attentions soon turned to playing the gig. Stage time for us was 7.45. The stage itself was tiny, especially with two bands' worth of equipment crammed onto it. This probably affected Dan the most. He had to remain rigid throughout the whole gig in order to avoid knocking his mic into the front row! However, excitement got the better of him midway through the set, and a David Seaman, cat-like save from a wee lassie in the front row ensured our insurance remains intact and no law suits have been opened at Edinburgh Crown Court against us. Good catch lassie! Goodnight John Boy, goodnight Mary Ellen, goodnight Edinburgh... Next stop: Cambridge."
Aww...bless.
