Alas, the pop charts are looking as bare than Vanessa Feltz's pantry when it comes to seasonal choons. Fair dues, we've been as guilty as anyone for belting out Leona Lewis' hits from behind the shower curtain, but her brassy, Whitney-esque hollers just won't cut it when we’ve had a few too many sherrys and fancy a boogie around the Xmas tree.
So instead we’ve decided to champion The Killers new download-only single 'Don't Shoot Me Santa'. While its sentiment may not be up there with Bing Cosby, it's a million miles away from that last Band Aid monstrosity and the video involves some grotesque granny-knitted jumpers and a very cute Brandon Flowers. Which means it's ace!
There's the added bonus that all the money raised from the track goes to Bono's RED campaign, which is jolly good initiative that aims to help fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in Africa. So you can feel smug while you tuck into your mince pies as well.
